China Mobile’s new online application store lists a Dell device alongside other smartphones, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Dell and China Mobile have not yet formally announced that the Dell mini3i smartphone, Dell’s first venture into smartphone manufacturing, will be sold by China Mobile in China. However, China Mobile’s online application store lists the phone as a supported device. The smartphone has already been submitted to the regulatory authorities for testing and should be available for sale, said Zhang Jun, an analyst at research house Wedge MKI. The phone uses a version of Google’s Android operating system customized for China Mobile, he said. Other Android phones from Lenovo and HTC/Dopod are also slated to enter the mainland market soon.
