Boeing forecast this week China will require 4,330 new commercial aircraft valued at US$480 billion over the next 20 years.
Boeing estimates China will triple its aircraft fleet size over the period to make it the largest aircraft market outside of the United States by 2030.
The planemaker forecasts strong Chinese demand for new, more fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft. It estimates such aircraft will account for 71% of the 4,330 deliveries.
China air-cargo carriers will buy about 330 freighter aircraft by 2030 which, according to the Boeing forecast, will triple the size of China’s air-cargo fleet, EnglishCRI.com reported.
According to Boeing, more than 5,700 Boeing aircraft assembled in China are flying throughout the world with made-in-China components.
