China announced it had executed eight people in the province of Xinjiang for terrorist acts including a suicide auto attack in Beijing last year, Financial Times reported, citing state media. Xinhua said on Sunday that the crimes of those executed included masterminding the Beijing attack in which assailants drove a car into a crowd of tourists at the entrance to the Forbidden City, killing those in the car and two bystanders, as well as a host of other activities including establishing a terrorist organization and illegally manufacturing explosives. In June, 13 people were executed for Xinjiang-linked terrorist attacks.
