Eleventh bird flu victim

A 29 year-old Shanghai woman has become the 11th person to die of bird flu in China, state media reported. The woman, surnamed Li, was a migrant worker who was first thought to have succumbed to pneumonia. It is the first known case involving the H5N1 virus to hit Shanghai, which has not seen an outbreak amongst poultry since 2004. A total of 16 people have been infected with bird flu in China.
