The Taiwanese originated EVA Air and Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration (SMTA) have teamed up to promote travel to the Yangtze River Delta region. The cooperative program will include packages developed with key travel agents from North America, Taiwan and the Shanghai region, and coincide with Expo 2010. This will run in Shanghai, May 1-Oct. 31, 2010.
James Jeng, EVA president said, “Travel between Taiwan and Mainland China has boomed since we introduced regular flights between Taiwan and China. Together, EVA and our UNI Air subsidiary have more flights between Taiwan and the Yangtze River Delta than any other airline.”
K.C. Su, SMTA representative, said, “EXPO 2010 Shanghai China will raise awareness of the Yangtze River Delta region as a tourism destination. EVA Air is known for its excellent service, extensive flight network and safety record. EVA Air and the Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration will work with major travel agents in North America and Taiwan to create tour packages for visitors to enjoy the beauty of this region.”
Travel Daily News reports that EXPO 2010 Shanghai China international exhibition is expected to attract an estimated 70 million visitors.
