Three Nasdaq-listed technology companies were ranked in the top 10 of the latest Forbes China small China businesses survey, underscoring the fact many of the country’s best young firms still look to the United States as the listing destination of choice. Watchdata System, an unlisted manufacturer of smart cards from Beijing; Xinwei Telecom, one of the country’s leaders in homegrown wireless technology; and Neusoft Medical Systems, a joint venture partner of Philips, grabbed the top three spots in the survey. The list, published for the second year, is modeled on Forbes’ annual "Business Under a Billion" survey, and factored in investment returns and profitability. Only companies with annual sales of less than US$81 million were eligible.
