Ford Motor Co and Mazda Corp announced they have partnered with Chongqing-based Chang'an Automotive to launch a car manufacturing joint venture in Nanjing in Jiangsu Province. The JV, Chang'an Ford Automobile Corp Ltd Nanjing Company, aims for an annual production capacity of 160,000 cars by 2007. Another component of the JV, an engine plant called the Chang'an Ford Mazda Engine Company Ltd, will begin production by early 2007 with an annual capacity of 350,000 engines.
