US company Verso Technologies has sold software to a Chinese telecom company enabling it to block free Internet telephone services such as Skype, AFP reported. The company confirmed it had a trial agreement with one major Chinese operator but refused to disclose who. In September, China Telecom, the country's largest fixed line carrier, was reported to be working to shut down computer-to-telephone and computer-to-computer services in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
