SK Telecom, a Korean mobile phone company, will work with Lenovo, China’s leading PC and handset manufacturer, to provide its T Store content to smartphones made by Lenovo and expand T Store’s content distribution platform to a global scale.
T Store is the Korean mobile carrier’s app store.
Lenovo accounts for 12% of China’s Android-based smartphone market. The company has so far launched only one smartphone model, the LePhone.
SK Telecom believes that by combining Lenovo’s brand power with its own platform and content (which have already been tested for saleability in Korea) it will be able to secure a niche in the Chinese apps market.
Korea Times reports the T Store will mainly offer popular games, music and cartoons.
