Gazprom could sign gas deal with China by end of January

Russian natural gas giant Gazprom (GAZP.MCX) could ink a deal to supply natural gas to China by the end of January 2014, according to the company’s CEO Alexei Miller, Reuters reported. In a statement quoted by Interfax news agency on Tuesday, Miller said that Gazprom has reached an agreement with its counterpart, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), on all the terms except price. Gazprom in September failed to secure a price deal with CNPC on shipping 38 billion cubic meters of gas to China annually from 2018 from a yet-to-be-built pipeline.
