France-based Faurecia Group, one of the top 500 enterprises and the sixth largest auto parts supplier, and Chinese automaker Geely Group will set up a joint venture to build factories in Cixi in Zhejiang, Jinan in Shandong, Lanzhou in Gansu, Xiangtan in Hunan, Chengdu in Sichuan and Shanghai.
The factories will design, develop and produce components such as main instrument boards, auxiliary fascia consoles, door panels, pillars and injection-molded bumpers.
Zhejiang Limin, core supplier of Geely, will be the third part of the joint venture and will match all the parts together.
Gasgoo reports this is a fairly new concept and the aim will be to produce lighter, more ecologically sound vehicles which will have strong export potential.
