Great Wall Motor's green car push in 2011

Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor will begin trial sales of its electric cars next year. And its sales of standard cars this year has been excellent. "I believe the second half will be better than the first half for China’s car market, and our sales will be better," Chairman Wei Juanjun said. The carmaker targets full-year exports of 50,000 vehicles this year and has already sold 30,000 in the first six months. The company said it would keep its electric cars for the domestic market. "We will display our electric car at the Guangzhou auto show and will start trial sales next year," Wei said. Gasgoo Automotive News reports Great Wall’s first-half net profit more than tripled to RMB867 million (US$129.1 million), with exports accounting for about 14% of total revenue.
