Growing income gap

Income gap in the Mainland widened in the first quarter of the year, with 10% of the nation's richest claiming 45% of China's wealth, compared with 10% of China's poorest having 1.4% of the nation's wealth, state media reported. During this period, China's richest 10% had disposable income 11.8 times greater than the lowest 10%, up 8% from a year ago.
