Hainan attracts yachting festival

Despite the adverse reaction against the massive price increases brought in by hoteliers in Hainan during the holiday period, it still remains popular.

The 2010 Hainan Rendez-Vous yachting festival will be held next month in Sanya. 

Luo Baoming, governor of Hainan Province, said, "Hainan is determined to grow its marine and yachting industries as a key component of a wider tourism strategy."

 
It is believed by the tourist board that in the future there could be as many as a thousand recreational craft in the island. Hainan plans to create a range of unique marinas which will cater to the entire spectrum of needs of the boating community

Pioneer property developer, co-organiser of Hainan Rendez-Vous and Chairman of Visun Real Estate group, Wang Dafu, said,  "Hainan has the best coastline and the most beautiful waters in China and the island has a truly unique maritime history." 
 
A pivotal development under way is turning Clear Water Bay into a superyacht marina with the help of French Marina expert NDA Marine. It wil be a few kilometers from the Visun Marina.
 
BVM Product and Industry News reported a number of leading yacht manufacturers have confirmed their participation. These include Azimut-Benetti, Sunseeker, Princess Yachts, Lurssen, Bloem & Voss, Royal Huisman, Marquis Yachts, Ferretti Yachts and Pershing. For the first time in China, yachts of over 50 meters will be on display.
