China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission has ordered a review of public health facilities to assess their ability to deal with Ebola should the need arise, South China Morning Post reported. The commission asked local authorities to keep and share databases of people who had been in close contact with suspected and confirmed Ebola patients and designated hospitals to handle such cases. Additionally, a mainland drugmaker with military ties revealed it had developed an experimental Ebola drug and sent it to Africa for use by Chinese aid workers.
