Hopu to buy US$1.3 billion of Minsheng shares

Hopu Investment Management, the China-focused fund backed by Temasek Holdings, is looking to invest up to US$1.3 billion in China Minsheng Bank’s Hong Kong listing, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The private equity fund wants to buy about 4% of Minsheng, which is planning to raise as much as US$4.07 billion in a Hong Kong initial share sale this month, one of the sources said. The size of Hopu’s investment is subject to final allocation of shares to other institutional investors.
