The Shanghai Health Bureau announced a working plan yesterday to reduce the incidence of measles through inquiries of suspected and confirmed cases, in an effort to significantly eradicate the disease by 2010, state media reported. More than 98% of local children and over 95% of migrant children, new university students and military personnel will be vaccinated. Measles are a viral infection disease most susceptible to children. In 2005, the number of measles rose to a 16.6 in every 100,000 people, the highest level in Shanghai in over 20 years.
