The manufacturer of antibiotics responsible for the deaths of at least six people may not have followed proper production procedures, the State Food and Drug Administration said Thursday. Anhui-based drugmaker Anhui Huayuan Worldbest Biopharmaceutical did not make the drugs in accordance with technical procedures and did not keep full records, which may have caused "mass adverse reactions," the regulator said in a statement. No further details were provided. On Sunday, a deputy director of the Anhui Food and Drug Administration said the antibiotic may have been contaminated by another drug on the production line.
