Japan to relax visas

The Japanese Foreign Ministry, Land Transport, Ministry of Justice, National Police Agency and other agencies generally agreed that by July 1 there should be substantial relaxation of the rules governing the issuing of visas to Chinese tourists.

This is, of course, mainly to promote the tourism industry. As Chinese tourists generally are serious shoppers, it is hoped that relaxation on visas may help expand sales.
China Financial Daily reports that the Japanese government will formally make a decision this month. The decision is certain to be favorable to the easing of visas.
