Jiangxi Copper Company announced that net profit in the third quarter of this
year more than tripled to RMB171.4 million from RMB45 million during the same period last
year. It attributed the increase in net profits to rising domestic and international copper
prices.
The company added that it increased its
heavy metal production volume during the period. Its third-quarter gold sales were up 10.2
percent to 6,124 kg and silver sales jumped 78.8 percent to 149,013 kg compared with the
same period last year.
