JP Morgan China top executive to step down: Sources

Fang Fang, chief executive for JP Morgan Chase (JPM.NYSE) China investment banking and vice chairman of investment banking in Asia, said he will step down amid a US probe into the bank’s China practices, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the situation. The decision comes as the US Justice Department and FBI probe the US bank’s hiring practices in Asia. An internal announcement about Fang’s departure could come as early as today. Fang, a Chinese citizen, has emerged as a key figure for US investigators as they examine whether JP Morgan violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
