LCL services from China and Turkey

LCL stands for less than a container load. Now DHL, one of the world’s leading logistics companies, has launched two new LCL services – Shanghai to Izmir, Turkey, and Ningbo to Istanbul. This will give time savings of up to five days.
Enver Moretti, CEO for Middle East, North Africa and Turkey of DHL Global Forwarding, said, "Istanbul is one of the most important industrial and economic cities and the biggest port in Turkey, with Izmir in second spot. Turkish-Sino trade has a good prospect with business growth gaining momentum amidst the global economic recovery."
LogisticsWeek reports that, according to figures from China’s Ministry of Commerce, Turkey-China trade volume in 2000 was US$1 billion. By the end of 2008, this figure had grown twelve-fold to reach US$12.57 billion. For the first five months of 2010, trade between Turkey and China totaled US$7.06 billion, up 46.3% year on year.
