Lenovo to sell mobile phone division

Beijing-based Lenovo Holdings said it will sell its mobile phone division to its subsidiaries for US$100 million in order to focus on PC production and exporting, state media reported. The company also cited poor performance from the division in the third quarter, despite strong growth overall. Lenovo’s market share of mobile phones in China is 3%, behind larger foreign handset makers Nokia, Samsung and Motorola.
