The Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets made modest gains on Monday, breaking a two-day streak of losses, RTTNews reported. The Shenzhen Composite Index ended the day up 0.23%, gaining 22.9 points to reach 10,054.27, while the Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,019.11 points, up 0.76%, or 22.82 points. On the day, Tangshan Iron & Steel gained 10%, the one-day limit for trading, while Shandong Gold-Mining finished up 8.91% and fertilizer company New Hope Group gained 9.96%. China Petroleum & Chemical and PetroChina fell 0.5% and 0.1%, respectively.
