Zhengzhou Conference and Exhibition Hotel is 280 meters high and the layout of the building is inspired by the Songshan Temple Pagoda in Henan, which is the oldest brick pagoda in China, and is shown in the illustration.
The project is in Zhengzhou New District and occupies about 240,000 square meters. The construction will be started in November this year and completed in 2009.
In another area of operation Marriott will open its second Renaissance-branded hotel in Beijing in 2008 under a management agreement with Beijing R&F Properties Development Company. When opened, this 540-room property will be called the Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel and will be the eighth hotel in Marriott International’s portfolio in Beijing.
The 26-story property will be on the southern edge of the Beijing central business district as part of the massive R&F City 1.6-million square meter mixed-use development. Construction on a subway station that will be connected to the hotel by the retail mall at R&F City, is underway and is expected to be completed before the 2008 summer Olympic Games.
Recreational facilities will include a health club and a 1,500-square meter spa with eight treatment rooms as well as an indoor swimming pool.
