McDonald's eyes China growth

Fast food giant McDonald’s has seen a 10% increase in sales in Asia in February 2010, with China among the company’s three biggest markets in the continent, the Telegraph reported. McDonald’s, which had a total of 1,135 outlets in China by the end of 2009, plans to increase investment in the country by 25% this year in an attempt to cash in on China’s love affair with fast food. Sales in China were boosted by the Chinese New Year celebrations, the company said, while sales in Australia and Japan were also strong. The figures make up for poor sales in the US, which only rose by 0.6% in February.
