Mine veterans to boost mine safety

Under new regulations, about 100,000 experienced coal miners will be designated safety supervisors at China's mines with authority to conduct daily safety checks, train new miners and help rescue fellow miners should accidents happen, state media reported. The program's first 200 safety inspectors will be appointed later this month in Shanxi, the largest coal-producing province in China.
