Mitsubishi Motors Corp and its China joint venture partner Hunan Changfeng Motor Co will sign an accord on a new plant in Changsha in Hunan province to assemble up to 50,000 Mitsubishi-brand Pajeros annually, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported. Mitsubishi, the newspaper said, also planned to raise its 20% stake in Hunan Changfeng, which makes a number of other Mitsubishi models besides SUVs. Expansion in China is described as a key component of the automaker's so-called revival plan drawn up after Daimler-Chrysler rejected calls to inject more money into the company after losses kept piling up.
