Spring Airlines, China’s first budget carrier, wants married women to work as air hostesses.
Zhang Wu Ping, speaking for Spring Airlines, said, "(The criteria) for age is from 30 to 40 years old, she has to be married and if she has a kid, that is a plus. In terms of height, the criteria is between 162 cm and 170 cm. In terms of appearance, she has to exude decorum and confidence."
From the almost 800 hopefuls about 100 will be selected. According to industry experts, Spring Airline’s recruitment drive is setting a new standard for the aviation industry.
ChannelNewsAsia.com reports Zhou Guo Lai, a senior partner at Alliance PKU Management Consultants, as saying, "Frankly speaking, I think not only Spring Airlines, but other airlines in China will start hiring married stewardesses. I can confidently say this will become an inevitable trend."
