Two new Boeing 747-400 cargo services have been inaugurated from China to the US and the Middle East. China Southern Airlines has begun a non-stop cargo service between Los Angeles and Shanghai, with a continuing service to Shenzhen. The service operates three times a week. Meanwhile, a weekly service operated by Emirates Sky Cargo has started between Dubai and Shanghai. This is the first cargo service to connect Dubai and mainland China.
A report by Boeing predicted that China's domestic cargo market would grow by 10.3 per cent annually over the next 20 years, the highest growth rate in the world.
