New cooperation opportunities with Lithuania

President Dalia Grybauskaitė of Lithuania came to Shanghai to see, among other things, Lithunia’s pavilions at the World Expo. At an official dinner held in honor of Lithuania, she spoke about new cooperation opportunities that were opening up for Lithuania and China.
"Lithuania, as one of the leaders in Europe in the development of internet technologies, sees excellent opportunities for cooperation with China in information technologies,"
she said.
At the same time China has declared an interest in investing in the Lithuanian seaport of Klaipėda.
The Baltic Course reported that after the Shanghai Expo, Grybauskaitė left for Beijing where she will meet with Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping to discuss China’s investments in Lithuania as well as bilateral cooperation in cargo transportation, renewable technologies and transport infrastructure.
