[photopress:westin.jpg, full, alignright]The Westin Beijing, Financial Street, which will open October 18, is Starwood’s third property in Beijing and the second Westin in mainland China. ( A Westin is always a Starwood. A Starwood is not always a Westing.)
Miguel Ko, President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Asia Pacific, said, ‘China’s fast-growing travel sector, including business and leisure travel and the meetings industry, have raised the demand, from both national and international travelers, for upscale and international hotel products and services. Following the successful opening of The Westin Shanghai in 2002, we are now very proud to be able to introduce Westin and its many innovative and signature services and products to travelers visiting Beijing in future.’
The Westin Beijing, Financial Street runs alongside The Westin Executive Residences. Comprising of two towers rising 26 stories high, one with 486 rooms and suites and the other with 205 residences. They are centrally located just minutes from The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. The city’s business, shopping, sightseeing and entertainment districts are all easily accessible from the hotel, which is approximately 40 minutes from the Beijing International Airport.
The Westin Beijing, Financial Street has a total of 1,686 sq meters of meeting and banquet space. And, yes, it has a health center where over-stressed executives can work out their angst. Adjacent to the hotel, The Financial Street Conference Centre boasts an additional 1,808 sq m of meeting and banquet space which can host conferences, trade gatherings, exhibitions or small meetings.
