Online game play sees limits

Local Internet providers that have signed a code of conduct with China's press and publications administration are to implement "anti-online game addiction systems" which China launched yesterday to protect gamers from the mental and physical duress of online game play, the Financial Times reported. In response to concerns about the social impact of role-playing games that have been blamed for socially undesirable behavior, the system discourages over-play by reducing the benefits — such as points and virtual goods– that gamers gain after three hours.
