It was actually written for Chinese-speakers learning English, but it is still a valuable resource. One reader pointed out there was one problems: no pinyin. It is all traditional-form characters.
Obviously, although this is a great resource with 4,000 useful terms, it isn’t complete.
One commentator wrote: "Although it can be basic, I would say that it’s usful for all skill levels. Whether you’re learning English or Chinese, unless you’ve got a doctorate in your target language, this book will have terms you don’t know. This book identifies a subject and exhausts all the possible terms. Animals, Science, Plants, Computers, Crime, Natural Diasters, Clothes, etc. There are English terms in here I’ve never heard."
Literacy News reports James P. Zaworski as saying: "Illustrating meaning is a wonderful way to impart new vocabulary words to newcomers to the English language."
