Panda ordered to carry out merger Panda Electronics Group of Nanjing is near to completing a merger with eight other companies to form China’s third largest electronics maker, Bloomberg reported. The formation of the new group, which had been ordered by the Jiangsu government, would give Panda combined assets of Yn20bn and anticipated annual sales income of Yn55.5bn by 2005.
The new group would include all of Panda’s subsidiaries, including Ericsson Panda Communication, its joint venture with the Swedish telecoms company, along with Jiangui, Nanjing Mechanics Industry Group and Huafei Colour Display.
