Amico Games (AMCG), a leader in China’s interactive entertainment and MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game) market with 28 million registered users, has launched a mobile phone game distribution portal.
The new portal will act as a delivery hub for AMCG’s hugely successful mobile phone games, like "Miracle Journey to the West," which has some 15 million registered users due to its massive appeal as an adaptation from classical Chinese culture into an engaging MMORPG.
Amico is also the first Chinese company to co-operate with Nokia.
Peter Liu, CEO of AMCG, was reported by International Business Times as saying that distributing the games via the new portal would allow AMCG to capture 90% of the in-game revenues by reducing reliance on independent distributors, which can take up to 70% of the game revenue from the end users.
