Global distribution specialist ProLogis is to enlarge its China operations by around 50% with plans for a US$90 million investment in 3 million square feet of properties at six coastal locations, the Financial Times reported. The company, which provides distribution facilities to the likes of Adidas, Nokia and Samsung Electronics, currently has 4.1 million sq ft of facilities and a further 2.5 million sq ft under development. Rising demand for logistics services in China has seen some of the world's largest providers, such as UPS, FedEx and Deutsche Post, ramp up their investments in the country.
