Recruiting interns in Shanghai

China Economic Review is offering editorial internships at its Shanghai office ranging from three to six months in length. Interns will aid in CER’s coverage of the world’s most dynamic economy by assisting with daily news briefs, articles, researching and editing, and will be credited on the CER masthead for the duration of their time with the magazine, as well as in the bylines of articles to which they contribute. Successful candidates will ideally:

Have a major (or experience) in journalism, economics or finance;

 be able to meet deadlines and work efficiently;

 have strong research skills and the ability to synthesize and analyze data;

 possess strong written and verbal communication skills;

 be proficient with Microsoft Office and spreadsheet-savvy;

 have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team;

 have experience in or demonstrate knowledge of Chinese commercial sectors;

 speak and write English fluently.

Chinese language ability – in either Mandarin or Cantonese – is strongly preferred, but not required. Candidates familiar with Chinese-language sources for economic data, business information and scholarly research will receive special consideration.
