Bridgestone will build a US$100 million synthetic rubber plant with an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons in Guangdong province, AP reported. The leading Japanese tire maker said the new plant, at which 210 people will be employed, would open in the Huizhou Dayawan Economic and Technological Development Zone in the first half of 2008. The company expects a surge in demand for high-performance rubber in China and other parts of Asia.
