Trials of a Chinese-developed SARS vaccine are expected to be complete by January 2005, state media reported. Scientists developing the vaccine said clinical experiments were going smoothly with the 36 volunteers who were all responding well. Clinical trials showed the volunteers suffered no more than a typical fever and some minor discomfort, with no serious side effects, Zhong Nanshan, China's leading SARS expert told state media.
