China and the US have grown "increasingly interdependent" after 30 years of forging closer economic and political ties, AP reported, citing comments by US Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte in Beijing. Negroponte was in China on a two-day visit to commemorate the start of diplomatic relations between the two countries and to deliver a farewell from the Bush administration. Negroponte said US President George W. Bush has boosted US-China ties, noting heightened cooperation on security issues, booming trade and a deeper economic dialogue. He highlighted the financial crisis as well as regional and global security as the two main areas of focus in the relationship for the future.
