The deputy director of the Pudong New Area said the Shanghai government had reached agreement with Disney on "principle issues" of Shanghai Disneyland, state media reported. Liu Zhengyi revealed that the tentative agreement had been reached after years of talks to create a second Disneyland in China. However, no plans will go ahead without consent from the central government. The much-anticipated Disneyland theme park, with an investment scale of more than US$1.46 billion, is just one of six major tourist attractions planned for Shanghai.
