China Shenhua Energy will build a coal-carrying railway line linking the Dazhun and Shuohuang railway networks.
Dazhun railway is a coal transport line connecting Datong city in Shanxi province to Xuejiawan town in Ordos city, Inner Mongolia. Shuohuang railway connects Shenchi city in Shanxi to Huanghua city in Hebei province.
The project will cost US$2 billion, 35% of which will be funded by company capital. The remainder will be financed by bank loans. Upon completion, the 182.3-kilometer railway will carry 200 million tons of coal. Initial preparations are underway.
SteelGuru reports that Shenhua Energy has also obtained the green light to build the third phase of its Huanghua Port program, which consists of four 50,000-ton coal shipping berths with an annual capacity of 50 million tons. The project costs US$657.4 million, 35% of which was paid for by company capital.
