About 70 listed Chinese companies were implicated last year in the country’s ongoing anti-corruption campaign, South China Morning Post reported, citing a list compiled by The Beijing Times. The firms in question either lost top executives or underwent restructuring as a result of the campaign with the Times claiming many were under control of friends of formerly powerful Communist Party officials. The Post also carried news from state media of the execution of mining tycoon Liu Han, a Sichuan native found guilty in May of 13 charges including murder and the illegal sale of firearms.
