Sony has withdrawn six Cyber-shot digital cameras from sale in China after failing quality standards in Zhejiang province, amid claims that some localities are targeting foreign companies for "nationalistic" reasons, the Financial Times reported. Apco consultant St John Moore said there was no evidence of this, but that foreign brands face higher standards than local ones do. Sony admitted there were problems with the cameras or with the documentation, but it remains unclear how serious defects are. No problems have been reported with the same product in US markets.
