China's steel production is expected to grow 10% this year, down from 23% last year as mills focus on high-quality steel for shipbuilding and reduce output for construction, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing the chairwoman of Shanghai Baosteel Group Corp., China's largest steel-maker. While demand for construction will slow, demand for high value-added products such as auto sheet will increase, the chairwoman told the paper.
