A Chinese version of the BBC’s children’s programme Teletubbies is to be screened in China from this month. It will be the first foreign show to be shown regularly on primetime CCTV1, which has a regular audience of some 600m viewers.
Another children’s favourite originating from the UK was also taken to the China market at the end of last year. A Chinese version of the 24-book Noddy series has been launched in Beijing and Shanghai in a partnership between Chorion Intellectual Property and Beijing Publishing House.
