Television Broadcasts to get mainland access

Hong Kong-based Television Broadcasts (TVB) plans to form an advertising sales joint venture with Guangdong-based Southern Broadcasting Media Group (SBMG). The venture will distribute television ads on the Cantonese Jade and English Pearl channels on 10 networks broadcast in nine Southern China cities. TVB and SBMG will produce programs together. The JV is expected to receive approval from local regulators soon but still awaits approval from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the Ministry of Commerce.
