[photopress:MBA_nottingham_Ningbo.jpg,full,alignright]The University of Nottingham will appoint more than 35 new academics to its campus in Ningbo, south of Shanghai, to meet growing demand from students seeking a British university degree in mainland China.
The University of Nottingham Ningbo already has some 2,800 full-time students and it is expected that numbers will increase at the start of the new academic year by 30% which will bring it to around 3,700.
The University of Nottingham was the first foreign higher education institution in the world to establish a university inside China. The $60m research and teaching campus was completed in 2005 and is a full and integral part of The University of Nottingham.
The recent Academic Ranking of World Universities, published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in February 2008, ranks The University of Nottingham in the World Top 30 for Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy, in the Top 50 for Agricultural and Life Sciences and in the Top 100 for Social Sciences.
Academic posts are being advertised in the fields of business β including finance, accounting, economics and marketing β engineering, computer science, sustainable development, international communications, international studies, English studies, cultural studies and languages.
