Tianjin Free Trade Zone and China Aviation Industry Corporation(AVIC) jointly invested RMB8 billion to build China Aviation Industry Helicopter, headquartered in Binhai New Area. The helicopter illustrated is not one of those that will be built but it is of the style.
‘Binhai New Area will turn into the top-class R&D base and final assembly base of Chinese helicopters,’ said the relevant person in charge of the Operation Planning Department of AVIC.
Different from Airbus A320 aircraft, China Aviation Industry Helicopter will mainly produce helicopters with 100% intellectual property rights and 100% independent brand.
With a registered capital of RMB8 billion, China Aviation Industry Helicopter has four backbone enterprises, namely, China Helicopter Design Research Institute, Harbin Aircraft Industrial Group, Changhe Aircraft Industries Group Ltd. and Baoding Propeller Factory.
And it will be mainly engaged in the research and development of helicopter, airscrew, wind power products and structural components made of compound materials and possess the capacity of producing helicopters of a multiple of types and subcontracting the production of various aviation components.
China Aviation Industry Helicopter will focus its efforts to develop new-type and light-duty helicopters. By relying on the policy advantages and geographical advantages, the company wants to develop into a high-tech, export-oriented and internationalization aviation company.
According to eNorth China Aviation Industry Helicopter’s total demand on R&D personnel and production workers will be about 1,000 people and the company will recruit R&D personnel from all over the world to push the project forward.
